The city of Elk River Economic Development Authority recognizes the availability of a skilled workforce is a critical component to economic vitality in the community. Increasing opportunities for young people enables private-sector businesses to respond to the increasing demands for skilled labor.
In order to support this endeavor, the EDA has supported the Youth Skills Training Program, which is offered by the Department of Labor and Industry in collaboration with the Elk River Chamber of Commerce, and local businesses.
The jobs created as a result of this investment are believed to positively impact the local economy, the environment and the quality of life.
