Nowthen mayor issues proclamation to recognize business
Pine River State Bank of Nowthen celebrated its 100th anniversary on Aug. 15.
Nowthen Mayor Jeff Pilon signed a proclamation declaring it Pine River State Bank of Nowthen Day.
Pine River State Bank, which started in Pine River, Minnesota, and now has five branches, is celebrating its 100-year anniversary during this entire year. The bank opened the Nowthen branch in 2005, and Karl Nelson, its current senior vice president and Nowthen branch manager, has been with the Nowthen branch from the beginning.
The Nowthen Branch celebrated with the community on Wednesday, Aug. 15, with a free lunch, dessert and prize drawings.
