Ensuring affordable housing
26 Feb 2018
Affordable housing is a prerequisite for success. A home offers stability and security. It’s a foundation for growth.
Unfortunately, there’s a nationwide shortage of reasonably-priced housing. This makes the mission of the Elk River Housing Redevelopment Authority all the more critical. The HRA takes on housing and redevelopment projects that help provide safe and affordable housing options for people with low or moderate incomes. This includes improving and restoring stagnant and underdeveloped land. The HRA meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. It consists of five commissioners, including members of the city council and concerned citizens.
