Elk River is a growing city

Population growth is beneficial for economic development. It not only increases the available workforce of a region, it expands its tax base. More people translates to more consumers.
The city of Elk River has 52 percent more people than it did two decades ago. A steady rate of population growth is expected to continue, as is the rate of new job creation. That’s why Elk River is one of the fastest growing business communities in Central Minnesota
It’s not hard to understand why. The city has a great location that is in close proximity to and an easy commute from the Twin Cities metro area. Residents can take advantage of an exceptional quality of life, including nearly 1,100 acres of parks and outstanding K-12 education.
