City grants easement vacation

Elk River City Council members voted 3-2 at a meeting Jan. 19 to vacate an easement on York Avenue, north of Main Street, which will add property to either one or two home lots that overlook Lake Orono on the southeast side.
Residents and lot owners living west of the easement, Ronald and Paula Dargis, along with their neighbor to the east, James Burgoyne, applied for the easement vacation last fall partly because the neighbors already had cared for the city’s narrow portion of land as their own property, they noted.
