Great River Energy announces that the decommissioning and dismantling of the Energy Recovery Station power plant will begin this fall
The power plant that has stood south of downtown Elk River for nearly 70 years has been taken out of service and will be demolished.
“Great River Energy will conduct demolition activities in a responsible manner that will safeguard the local environment and assure the safety and security of our employees and the local community,” said Tim Steinbeck, Great River Energy’s director of resource recovery.
