Rep. Zerwas named Legislator of the Year by fire chiefs group

State Rep. Nick Zerwas, R-Elk River, was recently named the 2018 Legislator of the Year by the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association in recognition of his legislation last year that recognized Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as an “occupational disease’ in Minnesota statue. The legislation allows firefighters, police officers and paramedics diagnosed with PTSD the presumption that the diagnosis is a work-related illness.
