Mainstreams: Drop-in center offers resources for homeless youth

Open Doors For Youth is a drop-in resource center in Elk River for youth ages 16 to 24 facing homelessness. The center is located at 554 Third St. NW, Suite 201, and is open Monday through Friday from noon-2 p.m. for the public and 2-6 p.m. for youth. Its mission is to provide a safe place where youth experiencing homelessness can acquire basic needs and resources as they work towards building healthy relationships and greater stability.
Executive Director Cindy Ley, board chair Cheryl Wold and board member Marilyn Olson talked recently about the organization and some new developments.
