Wright, Sherburne in top 10 for growth

Wright and Sherburne are among the 10 fastest-growing counties in Minnesota, according to recently released data from the Census Bureau.
Wright County added 9,589 residents between 2010 and 2017 for a 7.7 percent rate of growth while Sherburne grew by 6,078 residents for a 6.8 percent rate of growth.
Minnesota experienced an overall population growth rate of 5.1 percent from 2010 to 2017, with the addition of 272,682 residents.
Much of the population growth is concentrated in the Twin Cities metro area. Scott is the fastest-growing county (12.2 percent), followed by Carver (12.1 percent), Hennepin (8.6 percent), Ramsey, Wright and Clay (all 7.7 percent), Washington (7.6 percent), Olmsted (7.4 percent), Sherburne (6.8 percent) and Anoka (6.2 percent).
