Elk River featured on cover of Minnesota Cities magazine

The city of Elk River made the cover of the July/August edition of Minnesota Cities magazine, a publication by the League of Minnesota Cities, for the addition of an electric vehicle to the city’s fleet.
The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle features two electric motors and a gasoline engine that work together to ensure optimal performance depending on the driving conditions, all while reducing emissions and saving money.
Environmental coordinator Amanda Bednar, who is pictured on the cover of the magazine, says the city signed a three-year lease for the Outlander, and multiple departments are using it with the goal of determining whether this or other electric vehicles should become a permanent addition to the city’s fleet.
