Action for the environment

This apt quote by Hawking conveys the importance of action to protect the environment. On a local level, cities have the ability to make change. Elk River has been doing just that for the past two decades. It earned the title “Energy City” due to its efforts to increase energy efficiency.
Elk River’s Environmental Division is tasked with improving the city’s environment as it relates to the health, safety and welfare of area residents. The division has an array of responsibilities, from recycling to water protection and environmental permitting. It also coordinates the city’s environmental education efforts.
