Downtown park celebrates grand reopening

When cities prioritize parks, they invest in amenities that help improve the social, recreational and cultural lives of residents.

Elk River has put effort into expanding River’s Edge Commons Park. The scenic, multi-level park is conveniently located downtown, overlooking the Mississippi River. The renovations enable amphitheater seating for 2,000 people, as well as a larger stage and Wi-Fi. The park hosts a grand reopening celebration on June 15 featuring magician Jerry Fraiser.

The event will be free and includes family-friendly activities.

Soon after the grand opening, the 2017 Riverfront Concert Series begins. Concerts resume at 7 p.m. on Thursdays from June 22 through August 24 (except for July 6).
