River’s Edge Grand Opening

City parks have clear benefits for individuals in terms of the recreation options they provide. They’re also recognized for their role in improving public health. But one of the underappreciated perks of parks is their social benefits.
Parks provide a wonderful opportunity to forge community connections. Take River’s Edge Commons Park in downtown Elk River as an example. The three-level park situated along the Mississippi River recently underwent a $417,803 expansion. It’s set for a grand opening on June 15 to coincide with the start of the River’s Edge Concert Series.
This investment in the popular park has allowed for a number of improvements, including an expanded stage and a doubling of seating capacity for the amphitheatre.
