TriMark Corporation's New Elk River Facility: A Catalyst for Local Economic Growth
June 26, 2024
A Strategic Expansion into Elk River
In a significant development for the City of Elk River, TriMark Corporation, a leading global innovator in vehicle door hardware, has announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility in the community. Celebrating its 53rd anniversary in 2024, the employee-owned company is known for its expertise in designing and manufacturing quality hardware products for various markets, including agriculture, construction, and power sports. TriMark's expansion into Elk River is a strategic move for the company and a potential economic boom for the city.
Why Elk River?
TriMark's decision to establish a presence in Elk River was driven by several key factors. According to Ricci Marzolf, VP of Research and Development at TriMark, the company has experienced recent growth, necessitating additional manufacturing capacity. Marzolf explains, "Due to a tight labor pool in northeast Iowa, we decided to invest in a new manufacturing facility in Quincy, Illinois. This facility primarily assembles select products for a key customer."
The success of the Quincy facility encouraged TriMark to replicate this model closer to other key clients. Elk River emerged as an ideal location. "The City of Elk River is only three hours from the TriMark Corporate Headquarters in New Hampton, Iowa," Marzolf noted. "Minnesota is also a top-five revenue-generating state for TriMark, and the quality of the people we have recently added to the TriMark team fits our corporate culture perfectly."
Enhancing Operational Capabilities
The new facility in Elk River is set to significantly bolster TriMark's operational capabilities. The additional manufacturing space and access to skilled labor will support the company's growth in key markets such as power sports, construction, and emergency vehicles. Marzolf elaborated on this: "TriMark Minnesota provides additional capacity to meet our growth strategy and gives us the ability to take on new opportunities with expanded manufacturing space and the availability of labor."
This strategic move is expected to enhance TriMark's service to its existing customers and open new avenues for business expansion. By aligning their assembly operations closer to critical clients like Sportech, TriMark aims to deliver exceptional customer support and service.
Integration with the Elk River Community
Beyond operational benefits, TriMark is committed to integrating with the Elk River community and contributing to local workforce development. "TriMark is a member of the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce and will participate in programs and training opportunities to enhance employee skill sets," Marzolf mentioned.
As a long-standing supporter of community growth and development, TriMark intends to be a contributing partner to Elk River. "We support special events and educational institutions and contribute to the growth and development of the next generation of workers," Marzolf added.
A Promising Future for Elk River
TriMark's expansion into Elk River is more than just a business move; it's a partnership with the community. This new facility promises to bring economic benefits, create job opportunities, and foster a collaborative environment for local growth and development. As TriMark continues to innovate and expand, Elk River stands to gain significantly, reinforcing its position as a thriving hub for manufacturing and economic development in the region.
