169 Redefine Upcoming Project Open Houses

Preliminary plans for MnDOT’s 169 Redefine project, the redesign and reconstruction of three miles of Hwy 169 into a freeway through Elk River, are continuing to progress. The preliminary layout is under review with expected approval by the end of March.

Elk River businesses are invited to join the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce for a “169 Business Meet-and-Greet” event on Monday, March 16 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the ISD 728 District Office, located at 11500 193rd Ave. NW. MnDOT and city staff will be present to talk with businesses along the Hwy 169 corridor about what to expect before and during construction. Don’t worry residents/commuters, you’ll have your opportunity to learn more about the status of the project this spring as well! MnDOT expects to host another 169 Redefine community open house in April to present the current design along with tentative construction staging and traffic impact information. Look for details on the date, time and location of the upcoming open house in the next few weeks.
