Canadian firm has an interest in locating adjacent to Great River Energy’s RDF facility
The Elk River City Council thinks Great River Energy should go ahead and explore a partnership that could put a bio refinery next to its waste-to-energy facility on Highway 10.
Enerkem, a Montreal-based clean-tech company, uses its own technology to convert pre-treated waste from cities and counties into transportation fuels and chemicals. According to its website, Enerkem already operates bio refineries in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and has planned facilities in Quebec, the Netherlands and China. A representative of Enerkem spoke to the Elk River City Council at its work session Monday, Nov. 19.
